Facials in Downers Grove

One esthetician, one room, one hour.

Squalane is Bruna Vieira's studio. She gives every facial herself, with a skin check first and a written note at the end. Wednesday to Saturday, by appointment.

The esthetician

Bruna Vieira, at every visit

Squalane is one room and one person. Bruna sees one client at a time and leaves a quarter hour between visits to reset the room, so nobody waits and nobody is rushed. She writes down what she noticed and what she used, and your next visit starts where this one stopped.

  • One client at a time

  • A written note after every visit

  • English and Portuguese

A custom facial

One hour, minute by minute

Sixty minutes, one person and one room. This is where each of them goes.

  1. 0:00

Step 1: You arrive and settle

Bruna meets you at the door and you sit by the window. Bag and coat go on the hook, your phone goes on silent and your hair goes back in a soft band.

  2. 0:05

Step 2: Your skin, under the lamp

A look through a magnifying lamp and a few questions: what you've used this month, what has changed, what you would rather leave alone today.

  3. 0:10

    Step 3: Cleanse

Two cleanses and a warm towel, so the rest of the hour starts on clean skin.

  4. 0:15

    Step 4: Steam and exfoliate

Warm steam, then a gentle exfoliation chosen for what the lamp showed.

  5. 0:25

Step 5: Extractions, where your skin allows

Bruna works at your pace and stops when your skin says stop. Some days there are none.

  6. 0:35

Step 6: Mask, hands and arms

A mask goes on and sets while she massages your hands and forearms.

  7. 0:45

Step 7: Face, neck and shoulders

The mask comes off, a serum goes on and a slow massage follows.

  8. 0:55

Step 8: Finish, and your note

Moisturizer and a sunscreen for the walk to your car. Before you sit up, Bruna writes down what she used and what she saw, and tells you what to leave alone until next time.

Before you book

How often should I come?

A common rhythm is every four to six weeks. After your first visit Bruna will tell you what fits your skin and your calendar, and you can change it whenever you like.

What happens at a first visit?

It begins with a thirty-minute skin check: your routine, your skin that day and what to do first. If you book a facial after it, plan on an hour and a half in all.

Can I come in with a breakout?

Yes. Tell Bruna when you book. She may suggest a calmer visit or another day, and she will say why.

How does pricing work?

Prices aren't printed here. They depend on the service, its length and any add-ons, and the booking page shows the price when you choose a service, before you confirm.

What if I'm running late?

Tell us and Bruna will do what the time allows. A late arrival can shorten your visit, because the next hour is held for someone else.
